The DNA sequence of the gene rspA of Escberichia coli coding for ribosomal protein S1
Max-Planck-Institut für Molekulare Genetik, Abt. Wittmann Ihnestrasse 63-73, D-1000 Berlin 33, FRG
Received February 5, 1982. Accepted March 4, 1982.
The DNA sequence of the gene rpsA as well as of its neighboring regions has been determined using the dideoxyribonucleo-tide method. It was found that there is an "open-reading-frame" of 350 bp which precedes the gene rpsA. Furthermore, an extensive internal repeats of nucleotide sequence have been found in this gene.
