Depanment of Biology, Yale University New Haven, CT 06520, USA
Received February 15, 1983. Revised April 20, 1983. Accepted May 6, 1983.
A new sonovalent and divalent requiring endoribonuclease hat been identified in extracts of calf heart titans using a natural substrate nolecule. This ribonuclease creates 5 hydroxyl and 3 phosphate groups in its cleavage products. It cleaves predominantly between pyrimidine and A residues though not all such possible sites are attacked in the substrates tested.
