The syntheses and anti-HIV-1 evaluations of two abasic oligodeoxyribonucleotide phosphorothioate analogs, d[Cps(Epg)2gC] and d[Cps(Vps)26C] (where E and V derive from 1,2-dideoxy-D-ribofuranose and (±)-butane 1, 3-diol, respectively), are described.
