CisMols Analyzer: identification of compositionally similar cis-element clusters in ortholog conserved regions of coordinately expressed genes

Anil G. Jegga, Ashima Gupta, Sivakumar Gowrisankar, Mrunal A. Deshmukh, Steven Connolly, Kevin Finley and Bruce J. Aronow

The authors would like to apologize for the omission of a reference in the conclusion. The corrected sentences affected and the complete missing reference details are given below.

Clearly, there is a paradox in the phylogenetic footprinting approach. To recognize conserved regulatory elements, there should be enough evolutionary distance to allow differential drift of sequences that flank the regulatory regions. However, this evolutionary distance can also decrease the conservation of, and thus ability to recognize, short cis-element motifs (see ref. 17).
