The availability of the complete sequence of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae
genome has allowed a comprehensive analysis of the genes encoding
cytoplasmic ribosomal proteins in this organism. On the basis of this
complete inventory a new nomenclature for the yeast ribosomal proteins is
presented.
