About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: Model of a binary RNA switch that was constructed using five different functional domains. The action of the self-cleaving ribozyme domain (red) is controlled by the cooperative docking of effectors to the theophylline-binding site (green) and the FMN-binding site (blue), which are connected via ligand-responsive bridge domains (magenta and yellow). The FMN-binding site exhibits an 85-fold increase in affinitiy for its ligand due to the cooperative binding of theophylline. For further details, see article in this issue by Jose et al. [Nucleic Acids Res. (2001), 29, 1631-1637].
