About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: Flow cytometric and cytogenetic analyses of human chromosomes using a fluorescent polyamide that targets a satellite repeat on chromosomes 9, 1 and Y. The two bivariate plots show fluorescent intensity distributions of chromosomes stained with Hoechst 33258, an AT-binding DNA stain, and the fluorescent polyamide (left) or chromomycin A3, a CG-binding DNA stain (right). The fluorescent images of chromosomes 9, 10, 11 and 12 are taken from metaphase spreads stained with fluorescent polyamide (top) or after fluorescence in situ hybridization using ‘paints’ generated from the chromosomes sorted using the left and right sort windows as probes (middle and bottom rows, respectively).
