Cover. Confocal microscopy of left ventricular cardiac muscle cells from aged mouse hearts. Anti-alpha actinin--FITC conjugated antibodies (green) were used to label the alpha actinin distribution in the contractile apparatus. The autofluorescent lipofuscin inclusions (red) were visualized with the Texas red filter. Nuclei were stained with Hoechst 33342 (blue). Pictures were taken at 600×.
