Cover: Gene map and location of introns and twintrons of the Euglena gracilis chloroplast genome. The location of the rpoA gene is described in the paper by Sheveleva et al. in this issue [Nucleic Acids Res. (2002) 30, 1247-1254]. The complete sequence of this genome was first reported in Nucleic Acids Research in 1993 (Hallick et al., 21, 3537-3544). The DNA sequence database accession (X70810) for this genome was updated in 2001 with very detailed descriptions of all introns, twintrons and alternative splicing events. In this figure, group II introns are shown in blue, group III introns are shown in red, and twintrons are shown as introns internal to other introns.
