A novel yeast three-hybrid system constructed on the basis of interaction between tRNA and aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase. The two protein hybrids are the LexA-MS2 coat protein (red, hybrid 1) and the β subunit of Aquifex aeolicus LeuRS linked to GAL4 activation domain (gold, hybrid 3). The hybrid RNA consists of A.aeolicus tRNALeu and the MS2 RNA (cyan, hybrid 2).
