Crystal structure of the Mg2+-(Chromomycin A3)2-d(TTGGCCAA)2 complex. The figure shows the metal-coordinated dimer of Chromomycin bound to the DNA duplex from the minor groove side. Chromomycin is in skeletal line drawing and DNA is in electrostatic surface representation. The metal ion (shown as a purple sphere) has an octahedral coordination with two water molecules (aqua) acting as the fifth and sixth ligands.
