Docking model of glutamyl-Q-tRNA synthetase complexed to tRNAAsp. The L-shaped tRNA (shown as a yellow ribbon diagram with an overlaid molecular surface) binds by its anticodon stem and loop to glutamyl-Q-tRNA synthetase or YadB, a paralog of glutamyl-tRNA synthetase (shown by a blue ribbon diagram with an overlaid molecular surface). The queuosine (Q34) at the wobble position of tRNA is represented; the two OH groups of the cis-diol of queuine are at the vicinity of the activated glutamate of Glu-AMP formed by the enzyme. Glutamyl-Q-tRNA synthetase, transfers the activated glutamate on queuine, and catalyzes formation of Glu-Q a novel hypermodification of tRNAAsp.
