About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: The kink turn motif of U4 snRNA bound to the 15.5K protein. The atomic coordinates (PDB ID 1E7K) were obtained from the crystal structure of the complex (Vidovic et al., Mol. Cell, 2000). The protein is shown in a transparent cartoon representation with the α-helices red, the β-sheets yellow and the unstructured regions lime. The RNA backbone is shown in gray while the bases are colored as follows: adenines are red, guanines blue, cytosines orange, uracils yellow. The protein residues forming the cavity that binds to RNA [see Cojocaru et al. (2005), Nucleic Acids Res., 33, 3435–3446] are shown in white. Oxygen atoms are colored in pink and nitrogen atoms in cyan. The image was created with the VMD software (http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/).
