Cover: The genes for the three group-C Sry-related high-mobility-group box transcription factors—Sox4, Sox11 and Sox12—exhibit largely overlapping expression patterns during development. This is illustrated in this RNA in situ hybridization data of mouse embryo head sections at the gestation days 12.5, 14.5, 16.5 and 18.5 (left to right) with probes for Sox4, Sox11 and Sox12 (top to bottom). RNA signals are seen in red and cell nuclei in blue. The strongest RNA signals are detected for the three genes in neuronal cells, followed by mesenchymal cells.
